Tiles of Lisbon: a photo story

Curiosity got the better of me. Each tile seemed to tell a story through colour, pattern and aged cracks. I couldn't help but stop to witness the beauty of the tiles around Lisbon.

OK, so the next two photos are from Sintra - approximately 30 minutes away from Lisbon by car.

Above is at 'Avenida' underground stop. Yes, I was actually wearing clothes.

If you want to buy a new or vintage tile, head to Cortiço & Netos in Alfama district. The shop is independently owned by two brothers and it's definitely worth a visit, especially if you're wandering around this old neighbourhood!
